Hello.
In 6 years that I've been living here in Jakarta, I've adopted some 25 feral street cats that nobody wants ,owns, takes care of. I have 5 living indoors permanently, Katy, Cindy, Cassie, Amy, Sweetpea. The others continue to live outside and roam the streets but come home twice a day for meals.
Currently there's Oscar, Lily, Lil Baby, Ally,Oreo, Blackie, Ernie and Bert (recently had to be euthenized as he was run over by a motor bike). There were others who have since died or disappeared..Molly,Oscar1, Choclit, Thomas, Little Tomtom, Lil Bert, Fugly, Ebony, Lady, Lily1, and Jaffa. I've had all the females sterilized (cost a fortune!!) and I'm hoping no more female strays come to my house to have their babies. I have to leave Jakarta at the end of this year to go home to Perth Australia and my predicament is...what to do with all these cats under my care. Nobody wants them, I cant bear to have them put to sleep and there is only one shelter that I know of which is already overwhelmed with unwanted cats. The indoor ones especially are very precious and I love them so much. I dont know what to do. If anyone has a suggestion, I would really love to hear from you. I did not purposely collect all these cats, they were starving or were born in my front yard and couldnt just ignore or abandon them. Cats are not considered pets here unless they're the exotic breeds. The strays here are sickly, emaciated and live off garbage bins. The ones I am taking care of are healthy now but still nobody wants them.
